The print
This is a high-quality print of a hand-drawn map on premium card stock - a thick (100 lb) card stock with a smooth, neutral white surface. Like a business card, but the size of a standard sheet of paper.
Note from the artist
Yellowstone National Park was the first national park ever established. Before it became a national park, it was known as a land of fire and steam. While it was home to various native tribes of the region, only the Wind River Shoshone lived there year-round.
Jim Bridger and other frontiersmen explored the Yellowstone region throughout the 19th century, returning home with stories of bursting geysers, bubbling mud pots, and rainbow-colored hot pots. No one believed them.
When the Hayden survey returned with photographic proof of the area's beauty in 1871, Ulysses S. Grant established the region as a national park.
This map features intricate details, including landmarks, historic buildings, and other sites throughout the park. See if you can find them all.
